Do I have Hard Water In My Area?
Although rainwater is naturally soft, most of the water that is tapped to our homes travels through layers of rock, picking up minerals and turning it ‘hard’.
You may have noticed that your baths aren’t so bubbly, your taps lose their shine, and in extreme cases, damage can be caused to boilers and showers. Have you noticed your washing machine isn’t as good as it used to be? Maybe the hard water is taking its toll!
But you don’t have to live with it! Installing a water softener can bring back bath bubbles, increase the life of your appliances and keep your shower free-flowing for longer!

If you live in England, there’s a very good chance you have hard water to your home.
Hard water is formed when water percolates through deposits of limestone and chalk which are largely made up of calcium and magnesium carbonates.
The water in your area doesn’t necessarily originate there, though. Water is often piped from other places so the hardness of your water doesn’t necessarily relate to the type of rock where you live.
You can usually tell if your water supply is hard by the symptoms. If you get a lot of limescale build up on your taps, shower head or in your kettle, then that’s a good indication that you have hard water.
A water softener will solve the problem, leaving you with cleaner taps, better showers and kettles that don’t have to be descaled every few weeks!
